Job Description

Oryx is searching for an addition to its lineup that will lead software qualification development. In this role, you are expected to have a solid technical understanding of our entire system and the manner in which our sub-systems relate to each other. These disciplines include optics and lasers, Silicon fabrication, analog, and digital design, RF theory, SW and user-level field application. Your main task will be to own the development of software verification practices and methods that will facilitate delivery of an automotive-grade, durable, reliable and top-notch performing LiDAR system. We want you to join our team if you are a resourceful SQA engineer with the desire to research and develop solutions for the automotive industry.

Our ideal candidate is highly autonomous, intellectually curious, analytical problem solver, very detail oriented, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and has significant experience in software and/or system qualification practices in the hardware and/or semiconductors industries. The candidate will have the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will be able to develop best practices, refine procedures and constantly think pro-actively.


  • Own development of software verification practices and methods
  • Apply industry defined processes and standards to plan, design, implement, execute, evaluate, failure-analyze and report results from comprehensive manual, scripted and large automated tests of a complex software/hardware system
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functionally teams such as software, system and VLSI
  • Understanding of applicable industry standards including relation to our products and requirements to carry a product to certification
  • Create a regression suite
  • Learn and utilize state of the art testing tools

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years proven experience as a software-system qualification engineer in the semiconductors industry or similar
  • in  Computer Science and/or Electrical  Engineering
  • Proven hands-on experience with at least Matlab and/or python
  • Excellent understanding of software and hardware systems internals
  • Experience in a lab environment and instrumentation such as scopes and logic analyzers
  • Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic startup environment
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated and self-directed team player
